Mali ATN Plus Project Offers CD-ROM of Tools on Malian Ministry of Health Website

June 28, 2010

The Mali Assistance Technique National Plus (ATN Plus) project recently compiled a CD-ROM of materials produced with the Malian Ministry of Health from 2006 to 2008 under the previous Abt Associates-implemented technical assistance project in Mali—Assistance Technique National (ATN).

The USAID-funded project is providing technical assistance to the Ministry of Health in high impact health areas for maternal and child health: reproductive health with Essential Newborn Care, family planning, malaria, nutrition, vaccination, and health systems strengthening.

The CD-ROM is now available on the Malian Ministry of Health’s website—making these useful tools and documents widely available for use in Mali and in other francophone developing countries.

Project successes to-date include:
  • Training approximately 300 health workers in prevention of post partum hemorrhaging, 120 family planning providers in long term methods and supervision, 800 health workers in correct case management of malaria.
  • Providing the Ministry of Health with standards for clinical care, communication for behavior change and norms and procedures for nutrition, reproductive health and formative supervision (many of which are available on the CD-ROM).
  • Developing technology applications for Geographic Information system and data collection using cell phones.

This CD-ROM complements the first volume CD-ROM produced under ATN, which is also on the Ministry of Health website. To access the CD-ROM, visit www.Sante.gov.ml.
