Paul Reinke, Abt Associates Climate Change Expert Attends Clean Energy Forum at the White House

July 28, 2010

Paul Reinke, Abt Associates Vice President for Climate Change Services attended a Clean Energy Forum focusing on Energy Security at the White House on July 27. The event brought our military and national security communities together to hear from and interact with leaders in the federal government.

The Clean Energy Forum was intended to stimulate discussion as President Obama and his Administration work towards developing a comprehensive plan that moves the United States away from a 20th century dependency on oil and creates a 21st century clean energy economy. The event, organized by the President’s Executive Office, was led by Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus and Deputy Secretary of Energy Daniel Poneman. Two panels discussed Department of Defense Energy in Practice: Operations, Installations, and the Military Services, and Energy in Policy: Energy Security, Mission Capability and National Security.

Reinke recently joined Abt Associates to coordinate and expand the climate change services provided by the company's Environment and Resource Division. He sees energy, environment, and climate change as inextricably related. "The solutions we embrace must address each problem equitably, and must avoid changing the quality of one at the expense of the others. Solutions like these are what Abt Associates does extremely well."
